What is AMSEP?? | ||
AMSEP (Asian Medical Students’ Exchange Program) is a bilateral exchange system between AMSA countries. It renewed this year and became more fascinating programs in the point of; it has “social” part, in addition to “academic” part! | ||
| System of AMSEP | ||
In this system, your university is “twinned” with another university in another country of AMSA. The number of incoming and outgoing students between the two universities is unlimited, but they should be the same. The duration is 5-10 days. All your living expenses (accommodation, food and transportation, etc) are covered by your twin when you are in his/her country. And vice versa for when your twin visits you. Only the air ticket and fare to twin’s university from airport should be covered on your own. | ||
| The content of this program is separated in 2 parts, the academic part and social part. Educational part could include a lecture about how medical school in your country is organized, what your hospital is famous for, hospital visits, and participating classes, etc. For the social part, you could have sightseeing, a dinner with twins, a typical student party, visiting special events in your country and so on. | ||
| Which country joins AMSEP?? | ||
| At this point, Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Thailand are registered as AMSEP organizing countries. If your country is not in this list and you wish to join, please ask your RC! | ||
When to go and come? | ||
| Any seasons as long as twinned university can accept you and your university can accept incoming students, but you need to apply at least 3 months prior to the exchange. The timing of incoming and outgoing doesn’t have to be the same. Exchange of “AMSEP contract” between AMSEP officer from each country is carried out at AMSC/EAMSC, so there are two chances to confirm the exchange. | ||
